It is safe to say the race is Trump&rsquo;s to lose &mdash; yet it wasn&rsquo;t that far-fetched to say that from the get-go. Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis dropped out from the race before the New Hampshire primary despite holding second place in nearly all of the national Republican primary polls, according to&nbsp;<a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-primary-r/2024/national/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">FiveThirtyEight aggregates</a>.</p> <p>None of the other candidates had even a sliver of a chance &mdash; meaning a candidate who is currently at the hand of several criminal cases, who has not attended a single debate, and who is responsible for one of the most notable insurrections the United States has seen in recent memory is now on trajectory towards the Republican nomination.
