Remember Your Why

There will be times when it feels as if the whole world is turning in on you. There will be times when everything simply sucks.

In certain moments, every cell in you is telling you to quit. “Quit this job.” “Quit this relationship.” “Quit this career.”

But then you catch yourself amidst this fury of frustration and you tell yourself, “I’m not a quitter. It just sucks right now and it will get better.”

But will it?

I’ve had this mental battle countless times in my life — in my most recent job. In my bachelors at university. In high school. In my romantic relationships. And in many more.

Admittedly, there has been times where I’ve quitted something while caught in the eye of a storm of conflicting emotions. But then again I’m only human.

And admittedly, there has been times I gritted my teeth, stuck to the task to then be greeted by the light at the end of the tunnel.

So the question remains: when is it time to quit? When is it time to hang up the boots and say, “that’s enough”?

Of course, there will never be a perfect framework. And yes, we might not always see the light in our decisions.
