On the Regulation of Gender, Sexuality, and Individual Liberty in Red States
<p>You didn’t want to know anything more about Matt Walsh’s sophomoric prank masquerading as a documentary,¹ <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/what-is-a-woman" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><em>What is a Woman?</em></a> But I read the book² by the same title over the holiday break and, as a transgender woman, I thought this might be as good a time as any to have an opinion on the internet. Please bear with me while I try to unpack this mess: I promise there’s a point here besides demystifying the obvious. In discussing the arguments in this particular book, I intend to address several issues that actually impact real people in the real world. While it’s a small faction employing the rhetoric that circulates these divisive lies and propaganda, the collective fear and delusions of these imagined threats lead to the enactment of laws and the handing down of judgments that inflict harm not only on the minority LGBTQIA+ Americans that they target, but against us all: Bit by bit,</p>
