<p>We always sort of hear about the first generation of self-determination, with the Aboriginal Legal Service, Medical Service, the not for profit after-school-programs and the different sort of things that the community built for themselves here. The second phase after that social activated self determination is actually this incredible self-determination movement that swept through the arts, where you have places like Boomalli Aboriginal Arts Co-operative, Bangarra, Black Books, theater companies, the Black Theatre company.
