Everything Everywhere All at Once: The Asian-American Puppet Show

EEAO follows Evelyn, a first generation immigrant juggling a lot of personal issues. The laundromat that she runs with her husband Waymond is facing repossession by the IRS due to tax code violations, her estranged father has recently fallen ill, her marriage is strained and non-communicative, and her disapproval of her daughter Joy’s white girlfriend has further driven a wedge between them. In the midst of all this, a dark force is threatening the multiverse and it is up to her to stop it. What is this dark force? It’s her own daughter of course. In another universe, Evelyn was a successful scientist who invented verse-jumping technology. Her daughter demonstrated a lot of potential in verse jumping but she was pushed too hard by her mother. Her mind fractured and she became the nihilistic destructive entity known as Jobu Topaki.
