What PTSD Is and How to Heal

<p>In the United States alone, 70% of adults&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thenationalcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Trauma-infographic.pdf" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">report</a>&nbsp;at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Yet only&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6034513/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">3.9% of the world&rsquo;s population&nbsp;</a>develops Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, in response to their exposure to trauma.</p> <p>I have CPTSD from childhood trauma and an abusive marriage, and I&rsquo;ve been in proper therapy since 2014. But until I read&nbsp;<em>The Body Keeps the Score</em>, I didn&rsquo;t understand my own condition.
