Privilege and Achievement
<p>I’m nobody important. Full disclosure, I’m everything that should be happy and living a life of ease. I’ve got all the privilege checkboxes ticked: I’m white, male, straight, cis-gendered, Christian, able-bodied for the most part, and come from a middle class family.</p>
<p>I struggled my way through college. My parents paid for my bachelor’s degree, but I still worked to earn an engineering degree at an engineering school. It took me six years. I went on to earn a second bachelor’s degree in a science field and a master’s degree in engineering, though I paid for those with student loans. I went on to teach.</p>
