Political victory is not the same thing as being correct
<p>It has become an all too common occurrence. Congress or the Supreme Court comes down with a ruling we agree with, and we begin to treat that decision as proof that we were correct in our opinions.</p>
<p>But it’s not.</p>
<p>History has shown us repeatedly that agreement is not a requirement of correctness. Just because a majority of people agree on something does not make that thing correct. The same can be said about the opinions of scientists, doctors, and lawyers. And it’s especially true of the opinions of politicians.</p>
<p>Consensus should not be confused with facts.</p>
