Pinkwashing, Patriarchy, Occupation: Queer Politics of Israel-Palestine

<p>Following brutal attacks by Hamas on the 7th October, in which <a href="https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-war-death-toll-numbers-injured-5c9dc40bec95a8408c83f3c2fb759da0" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">1,400</a> Israeli civilians and military personnel were killed or taken hostage, the Israeli government has responded with a full military and aerial assault on the densely populated Gaza Strip.</p>
<p>At least <a href="https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/israel-and-occupied-palestinian-territory-appeal#:~:text=Last%20updated%2003%2F11%2F23,currently%20stands%20at%20over%2010%2C000." rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">10,000 Palestinians</a> have now been killed, with 30,000 injured; 1.5 million Palestinians have been displaced, along with a quarter of a million Israelis, according to <a href="https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-war-death-toll-numbers-injured-5c9dc40bec95a8408c83f3c2fb759da0" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">AP news</a>.</p>
<p>Calls for ceasefire have been ignored, and most Western governments have given Israel full backing in its now weeks-long assault on Gaza — an area a quarter the size of London with <a href="https://www.npr.org/2023/10/10/1204873146/what-is-gaza-strip" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">2.3 million</a> residents, half of whom are children.</p>
