His victims were targeted after doing the same thing every one of us has done before; they let a plumber into their homes. Or at least, who they thought was a trusted professional. For two decades it is believed Fyfe posed as a door-to-door plumber, gaining entry into the homes of unsuspecting women before beating, stabbing and sexually assaulting them. Between 1979 and 1999, Fyfe targeted at least nine women most of whom lived on the island of Montréal. However, his criminal history includes several multi-year gaps that suggest he may have killed many more.
