Do You Have an Opinion About Everything?

For almost two decades, I tweeted about everything I saw, heard, experienced, and dreamt. I was more active on Twitter than Donald Trump, even when he was allowed to be on Twitter.

Then something happened. You can’t find any of my tweets about anything in the last two years. No, my Twitter account was not suspended.

Inadvertently, I read a consequential quote by Marcus Aurelius from Meditations:

“You always own the option of having no opinion. There is never any need to get worked up or to trouble your soul about things you can’t control. These things are not asking to be judged by you. Leave them alone.”

Last month, my close friend, Isabella, asked me, after we came out of Oppenheimer, “Did you like the movie or love the movie?”

I gave it a lot of thought and shrugged.

“Whoa! I’m surprised you didn’t like it. You’re an ardent Christopher Nolan fan,” she declared.
