What I learned from doing Paint-By-Number paintings

I challenged myself to be more creative this year so I started painting.

I’m not much of a painter so I wanted to start easy with a paint-by-number picture. Little did I know that it was more complicated than I thought.

Here are some lessons I learned from this creative pursuit.

Good brushes make a difference

Photo by Anna Kolosyuk on Unsplash

The paint-by-number pictures come with their own set of brushes of different sizes but after finishing one painting, I decided to get my own set because the ones that came in the set gave way halfway through my painting. The bristles bend after being used for some time, which affects the quality of my strokes and the accuracy of my painting. I guess they are only meant to be used for one painting so if you are not so particular about them, you can still use them and then chuck them away forever till the next painting comes along.

Visit Now
