Not Faith Nor Fear
<p>Our evolutionary process spans over 6 million years. The earliest defining human trait is bipedalism, 4 million years ago. The greatest evolutionary leaps- a large complex brain, capacity for language, symbolic expression- occurred only in the last 100 thousand years.</p>
<p>Language occurred in the last 70 thousand years. Migration to the Americas in the last 30 thousand years; beginnings of agriculture and the rise of the first civilizations only in the last 12 thousand years.</p>
<p>Continuous research hopes to explain the evolution of consciousness, language, and the encephalization of the human brain which led to our ‘Great Leap Forward’ (a term for our major advances like careful burials, clothing, hunting methods, cave paintings. .).</p>
