Late Friday Night Services

<p>As a youngster even to recent times, the non-Orthodox congregations held their Friday night services comfortably after supper, typically at 8PM. They took their chances on competition with the network schedule,&nbsp;<em>That Was the Week that Was</em>&nbsp;in the 1960s,&nbsp;<em>Dallas</em>&nbsp;in the 1970s, all prior to the VCR so gone once missed. Despite cultural competition, for many shabbos had a priority, or maybe immersion in one&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/4717704570892498621/2743387945800931967" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">kehillah</a>&nbsp;did. Bat Mitzvot, including my sister&rsquo;s, took place on Friday night.
