What’s going on in Miami?
<p>You probably have heard a lot about Miami in the last year. It has the <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-04-14/miami-rents-rose-58-during-covid-while-buffalo-s-declined-2-3" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">fastest growing rents in the country</a>, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-12-03/miami-mayor-seeks-wider-crypto-use-after-taking-pay-in-bitcoin#xj4y7vzkg" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">the mayor is paid in Bitcoin</a>, and it has been the center of much drama on Tech/VC Twitter. These sound bites make great headlines but don’t tell you much about this city or what makes me excited about its future. I moved here somewhat spontaneously in February of this year following a few friends and because it’s one of the few places I can get my favorite food, gallo pinto, which is served 24/7 at <a href="https://g.page/restaurantepinolandia?share=" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Pinolandia</a>. August marks six months since I took my talents to South Beach and feels like a good time to share my experience living in Miami, what makes the city special, and thoughts on how it can handle all the newfound popularity.</p>
