God help me, I love New York, but I hate the idea of ever living there again. Being in the underground rave scene there has shown me a very seriously scary side of the city. It’s a scene where people get unhinged quite a bit — and yes, that includes me.
New York City can be a dream to live in, or it can be your worst nightmare. One of the reasons why NYC can be so rough deals with a phenomenon known as “New York Crazy.”
New York Crazy is a term I use for a specific type of behavior you see in the streets.

This is a term I use for the type of behavior that makes random attacks happen in New York City. It’s the type of crazy where a person seems just a bit off kilter at one moment, only to snap and threaten others the next.
New York Crazy is violent. It’s the type of violence that happens to totally random people, but looks like it came with a huge grudge. Any time you hear of someone pushing someone else on the subway tracks, that’s New York Crazy.
