Must-have tools for Java developers

Some of them are strictly related to development in Java some are more general, so even if you don’t use Java, there is a hope that you will find something interesting here!

Integrated Development Environments (aka IDEs)

The choice of IDE is a matter of personal preference. There are no good or bad options. The best one is the one that suits you best. There are many options on the market for Java, such as IntelliJ IDEA, NetBeans, Eclipse or Visual Studio Code (with some Java extensions). You can also consider the usage of the Neovim if you are a VIM enthusiast and want the most tailored experience to your needs.

My personal choice is IntelliJ IDEA. It comes with both free and enterprise versions. If you are a student, you apply for the Educational License to get the full potential of the enterprise version for free. The process is straightforward, and I recommend you give it a try!
