Unlearning My White Privilege Pt. 3: The History of American Elections & Racism We NEED to Remember — 1876!

<p>Things that I&rsquo;m quite sure have been obvious to many &lsquo;minorities&rsquo; in this country for many, many years now. As the privileged white class though, they are things I&rsquo;ve been so utterly and maddeningly blind to. Especially our history.</p> <p>You see, I grew up in farm country, Nebraska USA. Our largest school graduating class was the class below mine. They had a whopping 35 students. So, when I say we were small town, I mean we were actually a small town. Our teachers were good, as much as one can be in a small town anyway. At least when small town politics aren&rsquo;t in play. My social studies teachers were my favorites though.
