Unlearning My White Privilege Pt. 3: The History of American Elections & Racism We NEED to Remember — 1876!

Things that I’m quite sure have been obvious to many ‘minorities’ in this country for many, many years now. As the privileged white class though, they are things I’ve been so utterly and maddeningly blind to. Especially our history.

So, when I say we were small town, I mean we were actually a small town. Our teachers were good, as much as one can be in a small town anyway. At least when small town politics aren’t in play. My social studies teachers were my favorites though. They never judged me based on my mother, or anything that came with that.
