It Feels Like a Marigold Monday

Good morning, spiritual community, and welcome to the last Monday of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere!

With Autumn right around the corner, some people might feel a bit down, thinking about the approaching cooler temperatures and loss of daily sunlight; however, many magical things happen in the fall, especially when considering the inspiration found in nature.

Today’s huddle focuses on the marigold, a general term referring to over 50 varieties of flowering shrubs from two different genera of the daisy family (Asteraceae). Featuring long hollow stems and rounded soft fern-like leaves, marigolds bloom in various vibrant colors.

My attention turns to the lively intermingling of yellow, orange, copper, burgundy, and gold synonymous with Autumn. Fall foliage is before us and some trees are already shifting their hues to match the magic waiting in the wings with a seasonal shift.

A new work week and the soon-to-be bidding of Summer her final farewell might feel depressing or overwhelming for some people, but have no fear; Mondays provide an opportunity for a new perspective, a reset if you will, and seasonal transition marks not only the ending of one cycle but the beginning of another.

The key is to find the positive, the light, in any situation, and trust me when I tell you that Autumn holds an abundance of light, you just need to open your eyes, all three eyes, to see.
