Manufactured Controversy

<p>Republican presidential hopeful, Governor Ron DeSantis, sought a means of kickstarting his candidacy and somehow outshining Donald Trump. He endeavored to out-Conservative his opponents by becoming the voice of intolerance for gender and racial issues in his home state of Florida. The early legislation, dubbed &ldquo;Don&rsquo;t Say Gay&rdquo;, triggered constituents across the state and into the country at large. After the initial foray into discrimination his rhetoric expanded into gender identity and a host of legislation being introduced in Republican legislatures across the nation. Where there was no issue about what gender person felt more comfortable being, this legislation served to elicit reactions from the people who became bullied and beleaguered because of it. Those people who were being oppressed fought back and that further exacerbated the social strife. Celebrities and corporations got behind the oppressed and supported them.
