Choose between Windows and Macbook in 2023

You want an aesthetically pleasing UI. Mac.

Yes, I like the Windows 11 design language, and I was attracted by the bells and whistles in their announcement. But when I actually use it, there are lots of old legacy UI elements still contained in the Windows system, and they are laggy.

Windows (left) vs macOS (right)

You want a smooth experience. Mac.

Don’t get fooled by the high refresh rate of Windows. It only works when doing web browsing and gaming. Once you unplug the computer, everything becomes laggy. Even for scrolling the pdfs on Edge. A 60 Hz Macbook looks smoother than all 120-Hz Windows laptops when unplugged.

Also, due to the inconsistencies in the architecture of Windows, doing BASIC tasks like browsing files or scrolling pdfs can be frustrating. They are laggy when scolling and do not have the satisfying bounce effect on Mac, and it kills my mood to work every time. Also, Widnows does not have great native apps in the competition. The native email app loads slowly.
