My Night in San Francisco — When I Fell in Love with Ecstasy

<p>Her name is &lsquo;Ecstasy&rsquo;. She stands thirty feet tall. She weighs six tons.</p> <p>This love of my life used to be trash. But now she is trash no more. Salvaged and recycled steel make up this unusual sculpture.</p> <p>The artists that created Ecstasy, Karen Cusolito and Dan Das Mann, wanted to use reclaimed materials. They wanted to share an environmental message.</p> <p>They used found objects, structural steel scrap and old machine and car parts to create Ecstasy&rsquo;s body. The long flowing strands of her hair are old, retired lifting chains. The support for the large sculpture was crafted from Schedule-40 ten-inch pipe.
