A Lot Happened In 2023

<p>2023 was a year of big changes for my family and me. Before I get to the big changes, let&rsquo;s celebrate the small ones. The year began with the decision to stop eating beef, chicken, and pork. We opted out of the meat industry by&nbsp;<a href="https://medium.com/3-minutes/vegetarian-considerations-d79d1e4d4348" rel="noopener"><strong>adopting a vegetarian plus fish diet.&nbsp;</strong></a>We&rsquo;ve stuck with the dietary change for all of 2023. I don&rsquo;t anticipate returning to eating meat&nbsp;<em>other than fish</em>. I enjoy eating a variety of foods that aren&rsquo;t based around meat.</p> <p><a href="https://medium.com/@kristinapulford/lasik-eye-surgery-and-recovery-859d12135029" rel="noopener"><strong>I had Lasik eye surgery done</strong></a>. I delayed having the procedure for years because I thought I was not a candidate and because&nbsp;<em>I was scared</em>. I had terrible eyesight, and I&rsquo;ve worn contact lenses since I was a teenager. I had a consult for the procedure in 2013 but wasn&rsquo;t a candidate. I&rsquo;m glad I decided to look into it again. My eyesight isn&rsquo;t perfect, but I don&rsquo;t need glasses.
