<p>Upon listening to this song, I have never really felt moved by a song before. Until I was scrolling on social media and came across a snippet of this song. Though it’s clearly depicted as a betrayal in love, I can’t help but overlook the apparent reference to how women are an easy blame for multiple problems throughout the history of mankind. The most on-the-nose mention is of course, Helen of Troy. a woman who was condemned by everyone who had heard her story. People never took into account that her entire presence in the tale was controlled by the men around her. She didn’t want to leave sparta. She was treated like a placeholder. They emphasized more on her face as the “face who launched a thousand ships, rather than the strings attached to her back.</p>
