The Day I Visited Rio de Janeiro Through the Lens of a Foreigner

It was 2 am. We arrived in Rio on October 12th at dawn. We were tired. But excited for the days to come.

After 4 days in Panama (I shared a few of my first impressions in this article), brushing up my Spanish and exploring new places, my feelings of going to Rio de Janeiro was a mixture of exploring a new Rio and “going home”.

I haven’t been here for 3 years. My boyfriend, American and a foreigner, and I, talked about places to explore, restaurants to go and had a ‘loose’ and at the same time planned itinerary with some of the main and must-see attractions (e.g. Christ and Sugar Loaf).
