A Romanian Wedding, being an “Event Photographer” for a Day, Cruising the Copenhagen Canals, Aquavit and Open-Faced Danish Sandwiches, a Rainy Bike Tour, Colorful Nyhaven, and Rosenberg and Kronberg Castles

Greetings from Europe! A couple of weeks ago, we packed our bags, hugged and kissed the kitties (that’s always the hardest part of any trip) and set off on our epic summer trip.

We began with a visit to Romania, where we were the “best man” and “best woman” in my husband’s best friend’s wedding. It was actually his and his wife’s third wedding because the first one was during covid-times, at the courthouse. The second one was in the states, for the American friends and family. This one was for the Romanians.

I will tell you one thing about Romanians, they know how to party. Make-up artists and hair stylists were brought in for the ladies. There was a wall of live hands reaching through leaves to hand out champagne glasses at the reception. The guests were dressed to the nines. And the wedding itself (as well as the baptism for their son — who bears my husband’s name as his middle name) took place in a three-hundred-year-old church with vaulted ceilings and colorful painted scenes covering every inch of stone.
