<p>When my business partner, Surjeet first shared the idea of how the trucking industry in Australia had not evolved in a long time since he was an owner operator himself, I remember thinking to myself, here&rsquo;s another genius marketplace business idea. At the time, it felt like it was just going to be an idea that we might discuss at length, in detail, but never thought we would go past that, like many other great ideas out there.</p> <p>Interestingly, it actually did not take us long when we found ourselves researching the logistics industry. By delving into market trends and by understanding the trucking industry better, we learnt that The Australian Road Freight comprises of 500,000+ trucks, 94% of all trucks are owned and operated by small owner-operators with 4 or less trucks. The biggest overheads in the industry is the ownership of trucks and operating costs, Fuel being at the top. These costs are managed by owner-drivers who unfortunately are getting squeezed on rates.
