Joyful campaigning
<p>A bit of a follow-on to my <a href="https://medium.com/@valeriecosta/when-the-lefties-run-a-city-3e52d6eb6c26" rel="noopener">last post</a> about Barcelona en Comú. The campaign videos that the Comunes put out are amazing. So fun, so inclusive, showcasing what they love about the city and what they’ve been able to accomplish.</p>
<p>I want to share four videos — 3 by Barcelona en Comú and one bonus one. You don’t need to know Spanish or Catalan to appreciate them (though it may help you understand some of the nuance).</p>
<p><strong>First election campaign — El Run Run</strong></p>

<p>This came out right before the first election in 2015. It establishes Ada as really down-to-earth and likeable. Her awkward giggling is adorable. You see scenes of Barcelona residents dancing, enjoying life, doing local cultural things (like castellers and dancing the sardana). The message of the video — the people have power. To defend the common good.</p>
