<p>But seriously, who the fuck cares whether someone went to college! Even if you’re running a Belgian waffle eating/beer-bonging company, expand your talent pool by letting in the folks who learned how to attack an unlimited buffet at Golden Corral.</p>
<p>Unless you’re hiring entry-level nurses or chemists or rocket scientists, just work to understand precisely what body of knowledge or skills they *need* to have and talk about that instead. Doing that exercise will give your team a firmer idea of who your best candidates are and you won’t need to use a very expensive piece of paper as a (bad) sorting mechanism.</p>
