Yesterday we turned in car #1 and took a taxi to our hotel. Our taxi driver was quite garrulous and friendly as are all the Irish. He gave us a tour of the popular spots of Dublin on the way to our hotel. This cost us an extra €8 on the meter from what we expected, and we knew that it would, but it was worth it. He was great, funny, and gave us some great shopping hints as well.
The Ashling Hotel
We are staying at the Ashling hotel because 1) it had good ratings, 2) it had a good price and 3) it was very convenient to Heuston station where we could easily catch both buses and trams to go wherever we wished. We were given a corner room on a high floor.
