Life Perseveres in the Most Inhospitable Biomes
<p>Scientists use the term biome to categorize large pieces of land by their climate, vegetation, and life forms. Humans are fortunate to have temperate paradises in which to build our homes, as well as venture and explore earth’s untouched corners. The earth is home to a variety of lush and desirable biomes such as <a href="https://skybrary.aero/articles/humid-subtropical-climate-cfa-0#:~:text=Description&text=A%20humid%20subtropical%20climate%20is,poleward%20from%20adjacent%20tropical%20climates." rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">humid subtropical</a>, <a href="https://www.americanrivers.org/threats-solutions/restoring-damaged-rivers/mountains-meadows/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">mountain meadow</a>, and <a href="https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/biome/biotemperate.php" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">temperate deciduous forest</a>.</p>

<p>Floridians and islanders are familiar with this coastal atmosphere. Temperatures here range from 9°C in winter to 22°C in summer (Skybrary 2024). Citrus and juicy fruits top the trees, and darting reptiles rustle through the underbrush. Crystal blue springs and aquifers erupt fresh water out from deep beneath their cavernous rocks.</p>
