Icelandic Volcano Erupts Again

The eruption occurred in an area 2.5km north of Grindavík on snow-covered hills between Sýlingarfell and Hagafell. This is not good news for the town’s residents. The town was evacuated a month ago after large earthquakes occurred in the area, moving some parts of the town down by meters. Recently people have been allowed back in the town but with a curfew overnight.

The eruption, which can be seen from Reykjavik, giving a red glow in the sky, has been captured by the many remote cameras in the mountains. At the moment, this is the only way to view as the authorities have closed off the surrounding roads. Even the road to the airport.
