I Have Some Advice For the Incel Population

One thing I keep hearing more and more lately that I was unfamiliar with until recently is the term “Incel”. I first heard it when my kids laughing about it, as it related to some funny joke they were cracking up about.

Upon further review, I found out what the term “Incel” means.

Incel

/ˈinˌsel/

noun

A member of an online community of young men who consider themselves unable to attract women sexually, and typically are associated with views that are hostile toward women and men who are sexually active.

“self-identified incels have used the internet to find anonymous support”

Wow. That’s a lot to wrap my head around. Involuntarily celibate. Incel. Do they call themselves that? Or has this nickname been bestowed upon them by other people? I had to find out more.

I read more about it. From what I read, Incels tend to be younger men who appear to be pretty angry at the world, women in particular. They often hold conservative, aggressive political views and seem to be unable to fit in socially, date, or convince women to get naked with them.

No wonder they’re so grumpy.

I’m sure there are other reasons that some of these fellas have a rough go of it. Being involuntarily celibate doesn’t sound like a wonderful time. Especially in this day and age of social media and dating apps.
