What Has Happened to Hosier Lane?

Hosier Lane is a small lane in Melbourne. One lane in a city that's famous for its laneways and vibe. In the city's grid layout, it links two streets. It's a cut-through to the heritage landmark of Flinders Street Station and Federation Square and then over the Yarra River.

I'm in Melbourne for the first time back after Covid. It was a flying visit, so I didn't have much time, but it was a glorious day (unusual for Melbourne, famous for its four seasons in one day).

I always like to walk from my hotel, usually down the Yarra River and then into the CBD. Shops were shut, but the sunset wasn't until 7:45 pm, and there was plenty of daylight left.
