Holy Haute Couture!

Prague has more than 20 museums, housing such treasures as the works of Czech Art Nouveau master Mucha (at the Mucha Museum) and such curios as instruments of medieval torture (at the Museum of Torture) and such bygones (one hopes) as a secret police interrogation room (at the Museum of Communism). But the one little museum that held my sister, Donna, and me captive for a sentimental hour was the pocket-size Museum of the Infant of Prague.

“Oh my God,” whispered Donna, “Sister Bonaventure would love this!” She recalled how her fourth-grade teacher would disappear into the cloak room in the back of the class and re-emerge with doll-like clothing in which to dress the statue of the Infant of Prague.
