Hokko Life Review

Heya folks, Shaun here, and I’m back with my latest review! In this one, I’m covering an indie life simulation game called Hokko Life by Wonderscope and Team17. A big thank you goes out to the developer and publisher for the chance to cover the game, it’s much appreciated, thank you!

Hokko Life is a life simulation that takes inspiration from quite a few different life simulation games. The most noticeable is Animal Crossing but it also has features from the Harvest Moon and MySims franchise mixed in as well.

You play as a character that has found their way to a small town named Hokko and after the townsfolk convince you to stay and live in town, you ultimately become the town work horse, taking care of the entire town as a would-be mayor while they all lounge around and enjoy the country air. All jokes aside, the game is quite addicting and I enjoy the game’s cast of really weird and rather shady characters.

The game has a ton of activities to take part in. There’s the construction of new houses so people can move into your town. You can create your own custom furniture from scratch a lot like in the MySims games. You can fish, mine, farm, dig, and chop to gather resources for said custom furniture. You can also take on characters’ requests for you to do things for them. And, you can go to a remote island and hunt for treasure. Only to name a couple of the things you can do in this game. I’m 13h in as of writing this review and I have a feeling I’ve only just scratched the surface. It’s a really fun game though.
