Was Jesus a Hindu avatar?
<p>Although it should be mentioned that this is not the only definition and therefore should be discerned carefully as to not lump every school of Dharmic thought together. For example in certain traditions, these incarnations can also be viewed as an illusion, but more on that later on. Sketching a broad and hopefully not redundant definition of an avatar, going forward we should keep it in mind as “a god becoming something“.</p>
<p>This is certainly not an idea that is exclusively found in Hinduism. Many major religious belief systems have made theological efforts to rationalize a god or gods in human or animal form.
