Hinamatsuri and ikigai.

<p>Momo no Sekku 桃の節句 is one of the five Sekku celebrations observed in Japan. With the exception of January 7th (1/7), all other Sekku fall on odd-numbered months and dates. All of these Sekku have meanings and ties to Japanese food traditions.</p> <p><strong>January 7th (1/7) &mdash; JinJitsu no Sekku 人日の節句 &mdash; People&rsquo;s Day.</strong></p> <p>I&rsquo;m not sure if it&rsquo;s still practiced, but there used to be a tradition of eating Nanakusa (seven herbs) porridge, containing shepherd&rsquo;s purse, parsley, gogyo, chickweed, hotokenoza, suzuna, and suzushiro.
