Henri Lefebvre and ‘the right to city’ in Barcelona

<p>This &lsquo;article&rsquo; is a simple adaptation of my 2018 undergraduate Geography dissertation for the University of Glasgow. As such this article reads more like a 12,000 word race to some bumbling conceptual end. This is a subject that I fell in love with, one that posed me an interesting quandary. The original proposal involved Catalan&rsquo;s independence but given the uniquely messy situation</p> <p>What this article may achieve is expressing just how messy the process of performing in the world can be, then trying to make sense of your place in it. We increasingly migrate to cities, for the opportunities and abundance of resources. With migration changing the concept of a &lsquo;local&rsquo; and global citizen alike, the matter of our rights and citizenship status is thrown in flux.
