What The Chosen Got Wrong About Healing
<p>In the first season, there is a scene with one of the twelve disciples called Little James. Little James has a disability and is struggling with the fact that Jesus is healing all the people who come to Him (Matthew 12:15), but has not yet healed him when he is visibly disabled. However, Little James ends up saying that he does not want to be like those who only have faith because Jesus healed them; he wants to prove he has faith without being healed.</p>
<p>While it is true that some had faith before they saw healing (the bleeding woman in Luke 8:43–48), Jesus never asked anyone to prove their faith before He healed them. And there are many others who did <em>not</em> have faith before they saw healing (the man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1–15). Why did Jesus never ask (or need) anyone to prove their faith to Him before He healed them? Because Jesus had faith, and in Mark 16:17–18, He says,</p>
