Women in the Royal Air Force Expose a Culture of Sexual Harassment at Work
<p>Idon’t ever remember signing an employment contract with a clause in it asking me to endure any kind of sexual harassment at work. What about you?</p>
<p>The women of the British RAF (<a href="https://www.raf.mod.uk/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Royal Air Force)</a> have found themselves in a situation where sexual harassment comes with the role, is a common expectation, and is deeply embedded as a cultural norm. It appears to be something they must endure as an employee. Sadly, they were unsure whether to speak out about it — until now. This is a teachable moment for all female employees.</p>
<p>Following the report <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/62441fe1d3bf7f32b65d7243/RAF_sexual_harassment_report_2021.pdf" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><em>RAF Sexual Harassment Survey (December 2021)</em></a><em> </em>which summarised an investigation carried out on the RAF on the experiences of servicewomen, on the 1st of November 2023 <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/nov/01/raf-chief-acknowledges-unacceptable-culture-of-sexism-in-red-arrows" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><em>The Guardian Newspaper</em></a> reported that:</p>
