Hairspray’s Tracy Turnblad Is The Actual Role Model Young Girls Need
<p>Whether you’re coming in hot or returning to the dance party, I recommend <em>Hairspray</em> as a fun, educational, and incredibly important musical.</p>
<p>Like any musical theatre enthusiast, I’ve been familiar with <em>Hairspray</em> for years. I saw the full production at the Hollywood Bowl in the 2010s. I auditioned for the feature film, and I even had the opportunity to sing backup for a musical number led by Marissa Jaret Winokur a few years ago.</p>
<p>While I’m obviously a <em>Hairspray</em> superfan, sometimes it still takes a second look to understand what something is truly about and why it’s important.</p>
