Hacking Maladaptive Daydreaming into Productive Self-Bullying

“Immersive daydreaming” and “maladaptive daydreaming” are new terms in psychology circles. Maladaptive daydreaming is increasingly becoming a proposed disorder backed by clinical psychologists for entry into the DSM (that’s the bible for reducing neurodivergents to weapons of mass destruction), that regards the negative effects of excessive daydreaming. Conversely, “immersive daydreaming” is a term referring more to the positive aspects of extreme daydreaming, where, in a sense, one “immerses” oneself in a rich fantasy environment, a bit like you might become immersed in a fiction saga such as Lord of the Rings, except in this case, it’s the individual fabricating his or her own personal in-depth world.
