Hack.Diversity Appoints Michelle De La Isla as Chief Executive Officer as Organization Enters Next Phase of Growth
<p>As CEO, De La Isla will focus on expanding and strengthening Hack.Diversity’s ability to increase opportunities for Black and Latinx technologists, helping close the generational and racial wealth gap. De La Isla will work to set the organization’s multi-year impact strategy and vision, and build existing and new collaborations to further Hack.Diversity’s mission. She will also emphasize the organization’s culture around service, accountability, and results to attract and retain top talent at the intersection of technology, racial equity, and nonprofit. De La Isla brings years of leadership experience in the social impact space, most recently serving as managing director of <a href="https://www.drkfoundation.org/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation</a> and, before that, as the diversity and inclusion representative for Westar Energy. From 2018–2022, De La Isla served as the first Afro-Latina Mayor of the City of Topeka, Kansas, navigating the community through COVID. Her body of work emphasizes her passion for service, operational excellence, and ability to drive impact at scale.</p>
