Greek Traditions: Evil Eye (Matiasma)
<p>If you answered yes to all the above questions (or at least one), and you live in Greece, chances are you are hexed with the evil eye also known as ‘’matiasmenos’’.</p>
<p>It works like this: A person can see something, for example a baby, and starts thinking how beautiful the baby is, how nice his clothes are, how lucky the baby’s parents are. If that happens for several minutes, a wicked energy is transmitted from the person to the baby and the baby will soon have the above symptoms (at least, some of them).</p>
<p>It is believed that people with blue eyes transmit wicked energy more often, this is why evil eye amulets that are sold for protection have blue eyes.</p>
