You Don’t Have to be a Man to Work in the Great Outdoors

<p>The backcountry has a curious way of magnifying a person&rsquo;s beliefs and perceptions. Despite the pretense that sexism is somehow an antiquated concept, gender bias is still highly prevalent, and noticeable, in the wilderness.</p> <p>Three years ago, I was the only woman on a small trail crew. I thought nothing of it.
