My Gray Hair is Not a Statement
<p>When I decided to stop dying my hair, I announced my intentions at work, to my family, and to my friends.</p>
<p>Many of their reactions surprised me. Several people even grew defensive of their decisions to keep coloring their own hair.</p>
<p>“Well, your hair looks great, but gray would look terrible on me,” I heard more times than I could count. Or even, “I couldn’t do that. I’d look so old.”</p>
<p>So, did that mean that my gray hair made me look old?</p>
<p>I decided not to worry about it. Going gray was way easier than I anticipated, and I wasn’t trying to make any sort of statement about healthy aging.</p>
