<p>The gate to the New Year has opened and even though it&rsquo;s an arbitrary convention to change a number on a calendar and call it 2024 instead of 2023 we all do it, and we all find some meaning in doing it.</p> <p>Even the name January has its roots in this looking forward and looking back, this point of transition between the past and the future. Janus was a Roman god who had two faces, one facing backwards and the other facing forward.
