Here’s Where You Went Wrong
<p>As I navigate my stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, exploring the tensions between my leftist values and Jewish upbringing, I can’t escape this nagging sensation that I am somehow betraying my Judaism in my criticisms of Israel and support for Palestine. In every Jewish community I’ve ever been a part of, no matter how liberal and open-minded they professed to be, I have always been told that unequivocal Zionism is synonymous with my Judaism. Now I am making the active, uncomfortable, and true choice to break away from that dangerous pattern of thinking. This is my response to those who may feel that I am going against my Jewish values in doing so.</p>
