There’s always something going on at The George Payne
<p>Since opening in 2006, The George Payne on Plaça d’Urquinaona has positioned itself as Barcelona’s super bar. Somewhere in between a bar and a club, The George Payne has carved out its own niche, making it beloved both by expats and tourists passing through.</p>
<p>The George Payne really is an authentic Irish pub, as the brothers who founded it, Gary and George Payne were living in Dublin, running a successful bar in Ireland.</p>
<p>George had a home in Sitges and loved Barcelona, so had the idea to open a bar here. At first, Gary was against the idea, but George insisted. So, they ended up partnering together and purchased the space, which at the time was an old porn cinema.</p>
